Margot and Shammasi’s wedding combined such a fun mix of sentimental influences. The ceremony and reception was held on Margot’s beautiful family farm in the Catskills with mountain views all around – the same location where her mother, sister, and aunt got married! Talk about a sentimental choice for a “venue”. Coming from Saudi Arabia, it was important to Shammasi to incorporate some Middle Eastern flare. He wore a traditional arab thawb for the ceremony, the menu options included a delicious spread of hummus, falafel, baba ganoush, bulgur, and halal chicken, and the tables were decorated with gold lanterns. And as a beautiful gesture, Margot recited her vows in both Arabic and English.

The wedding weekend kicked off with a rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the beautiful Onteora Mountain House, complete with custom napkins to teach guests a few relevant phrases in Arabic. Speeches were given and tears were shed, building up the emotions for the big day.

When the wedding day arrived, all hands were on deck to make it the most beautiful, personalized summer wedding day at Valley Farm.

I’ve seen countless brides have outfit changes on a wedding day, but this time it was the groom who got to rock a second look for the reception!
