Hi, I'm Lin Pernille [pur-NIL]! I've been a photographer and filmmaker for over a decade, specializing in luxury weddings and proposals. I’m based in the lush, mountainous Hudson Valley region of NY, but my team is always ready to travel wherever your love story takes us.
I've always been a sentimental person, but becoming a mom in 2024 has expanded my heart and my capacity for love, and continually reminds me to soak in all of life’s most precious fleeting moments. It has taught me what’s most important in life – family and togetherness. Being able to document my clients’ most sentimental life moments while also experiencing my own is truly the best gift imaginable.
When I’m not shooting, editing, or mentoring, I’m probably binge watching a docuseries, Marie-Kondo-ing the house, or hiking a local trail with my husband Corrado and our son Summit.
Though I have a background in fashion photography, briefly working for the Photography Department at Harper's Bazaar and shadowing the renowned fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski, I fell in love with weddings when I shot my first wedding at 18 years old.
I quickly realized that weddings combined every genre that I loved: photojournalism, still life, portraiture, fashion, and beauty. When I was 20 years old, during my junior year in college, I knew that I had found my passion and decided to officially incorporate my wedding business.
Discovering my passion early on in life allowed me to tailor all of my working years towards perfecting my craft. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Photography from Montclair State University, where I graduated summa cum laude and was the valedictorian of the College of the Arts.
I’m very passionate about being a business owner (you can always find a new business book on my nightstand) and I love sharing that passion with others any chance I get. Every year, I speak at industry events and mentor photographers, filmmakers, and small business owners of all levels.
Your wedding day shouldn’t feel like a movie set. My team’s top priority when capturing a wedding is for the couple to feel comfortable and relaxed – we never want the images to feel forced, staged, or fake. In order to capture genuine moments, we prefer a photojournalistic approach, only styling and directing shots when needed.
Forming genuine connections with my couples throughout the planning process allows me to understand and translate their personalities and their vision for their wedding day through the photos and films.
Our mission is to capture your day artfully, naturally, and thoroughly, while being unobtrusive, courteous, and friendly to all of your other vendors, guests, and wedding party.
My first name Lin is Chinese for "lotus" (I was born in Hong Kong!) and my middle name Pernille is Danish (I grew up in Denmark!). I moved to America when I was 5 years old.
